The certificate is actually proof that the diamond has undergone an objective examination and received the findings that you will need to submit to the insurance companies, including a valuation note. Examination of the findings is supervised by a team of gemologists after a professional examination to determine the value of the diamond, measure its dimensions and test its properties under a microscope and other professional tools.
The full report includes analysis of the dimensions, color, cleanliness, symmetry cutting and other characteristics of the diamond. Some round diamond reports also include polishing rating and valuation.
